Bug Run returns to Mantorp Park in Sweden on June 5–7 for three days filled with Volkswagen passion, racing, community and summer atmosphere.
This year is extra special as we celebrate 42 years of Bug Run together with the 50th anniversary of the legendary Golf GTI.
Here are some of the major highlights during Bug Run 2026:
GTI EDITION 50 PRESENTATION – SATURDAY 12:00
Volkswagen Sweden presents the new Golf GTI EDITION 50 at Mantorp Park. Meet the car up close together with GTI owners, media and Volkswagen enthusiasts from across Scandinavia.
GTI ZONE – SATURDAY ALL DAY
The GTI Zone becomes one of the main meeting points during Bug Run 2026. GTI owners arriving with their cars are welcomed to reserved GTI parking in the paddock area, right in the heart of Bug Run. The area also includes GTI-Lounge, GTI-hosts, displays and GTI community activities.
MEET JOHAN KRISTOFFERSSON – SATURDAY
Eight time World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson visits Bug Run for interviews, autograph sessions and activities connected to the GTI celebration.
WIN A PASSENGER RIDE ON TRACK
Eight lucky winners of the GTI Quiz will experience the new Golf GTI EDITION 50 from the passenger seat together with Johan Kristoffersson on Mantorp Park racetrack.
dB SOUND COMPETITION – SATURDAY 14:00
Sound systems and audio builds return to Bug Run with dB competitions and demonstrations during the weekend.
GTI ANNIVERSARY PARADE – SATURDAY 15:00
A special parade celebrating 50 years of Golf GTI. From early classics to modern generations — all GTI models are welcome to join the parade around Mantorp Park. Sign up on the GTI Parade page.
TOP TEN EXHIBITION
Bug Run has always been famous for its exhibition area. Classic Cal-Look cars, vintage Volkswagens, rare builds and modern styling projects come together in one unique Volkswagen mix. Planning for the 2026 exhibition area is currently underway.
DRAG RACING – ALL WEEKEND
One of Europe’s most legendary Volkswagen drag racing events returns to Mantorp Park. Expect fast Beetles and extreme race cars during the weekend finals.
FORMULA VEE & TRACK RACING
Historic Formula Vee cars and track racing activities continue to be an important part of the Bug Run atmosphere at Mantorp Park.
CRUISING – SATURDAY EVENING 18:00
Saturday evening cruising remains one of the classic Bug Run traditions. Hundreds of Volkswagens cruise on the race track in the summer evening filled with atmosphere and community.
SWAPMEET & MARKET AREA
The traditional Bug Run swapmeet offers Volkswagen parts, accessories, vintage finds, tools and garage treasures. Private sellers are welcome throughout the weekend.
CAMPING & FOOD TRUCKS
Camping is a major part of the Bug Run experience. Enjoy the full weekend atmosphere with friends, food trucks, late summer evenings and Volkswagens from all generations.
FROM CLASSIC BEETLES TO GTI EDITION 50
